Bought an Adobe Creative Cloud key and not sure what to do with it? Redemption takes about five minutes. Here’s the exact process, plus what to do if Adobe’s site says the code isn’t valid.
What you’ll need
- Your redemption code (from your order email, and under My Account โ Orders if you bought from us)
- An Adobe ID โ a free account at adobe.com. You can create one during this process if you don’t have one
Step-by-step: redeeming your code
- Go to adobe.com/redeem (or the redemption link in your order email).
- Sign in with your Adobe ID, or click Create an account if this is your first time.
- Enter your redemption code exactly as it appears in your order email โ copy and paste it to avoid typos.
- Click Redeem. Adobe applies the plan to your account immediately.
- You’ll land on your Adobe account page showing your active plan and a link to download the Creative Cloud desktop app.
Installing your apps
- Download and install the Creative Cloud desktop app โ this is Adobe’s app manager, not an app itself.
- Sign in with the same Adobe ID.
- Browse the Apps tab and click Install next to Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro or any app included in your plan.
- Once installed, open the app and sign in if asked โ it activates automatically using your Adobe ID’s active plan.
Common redemption problems
“This code has already been redeemed”
Each code works once. If you’re certain you haven’t redeemed it yourself, contact us immediately with your order number โ this can happen with codes generated in error, and we’ll replace it or refund you.
“This code is not valid” or “Region mismatch”
Adobe redemption codes are tied to a specific country/region matching your Adobe ID’s region. Make sure the Adobe ID you’re using was created in a supported region for the code. If you’re not sure, message our support team with your code (never share it publicly) and we’ll check it against the order.
The code redeemed, but the app still shows “Trial”
Sign out and back in to the Creative Cloud desktop app and the individual application. Occasionally the license takes a minute or two to sync โ restarting the app resolves it.
I already have a paid Adobe subscription โ can I still redeem?
Yes, but check with Adobe or with us first if you have an existing paid plan on the same account, since redeeming an overlapping plan can affect billing. If you’re switching from a personal subscription to a key-based month, it’s usually cleanest to let your existing plan lapse first.
Is redeeming a key different from a “subscription” product?
If you bought a Creative Cloud subscription rather than a redemption key, there’s no code to redeem โ instructions in your order email will guide you through account setup instead. Check your product name in the order confirmation if you’re unsure which one you bought.
